Best VPNs for Businesses: Summary

Take a look at the summaries below for an indepth look at the best VPNs for Business.

CyberGhost Homepage
  • Special Offer: 77% off 1-year plan!
  • Thirty-day money-back guarantee
  • VPN servers in 29 countries
  • Strong encryption
  • Fast speeds
  • Kill switch and automatic WiFi protection
  • Customer support is slow

The regular residential package of CyberGhost allows five simultaneous connections on each account. If you are just starting up your business and don't want to go to the expense of taking out multiple accounts, you could just share out the allowance of five connections among your small team. Other services on this list are not suitable for small traders. For example, you have to buy a minimum of ten licenses to get SaferVPN's Business package.

The app is very fashionably designed and will add style to your mobile devices when you go to visit clients. The technical aspects of this VPN are also very good. The VPN uses some of the strongest control channel encryption in the business. The CyberGhost company often delivers free extras to its customers, including immunizers against ransomware.

ExpressVPN Homepage
  • Special Offer: 49% off today!
  • Servers in 90+ countries
  • Excellent encryption
  • Doesn't keep usage logs
  • Blazing fast speeds
  • 24/7 customer support

ExpressVPN makes an ideal VPN for small businesses. It is extremely fast, and uses military-grade OpenVPN encryption. A kill switch and leak protection keep your precious data safe, and they offer Stealth servers for situations where that makes sense. Their famously helpful 24/7 customer support helps keep your business online at all times. ExpressVPN does keep some minimal logs, but nothing that could identify their users.

A basic ExpressVPN subscription is limited to 3 connections. However, the company does offer volume pricing and you can install their app on a company router to protect all the devices in the office as if they were one connection.

    Buffered Homepage
    • Special Offer: 49% off today!
    • Fast, reliable and secure
    • Unblocks Netflix US and BBC iPlayer
    • Peer-to-peer (P2P) is permitted
    • Excellent website with guides and 24/7 live chat support
    • Fantastic software
    • No business-specific pricing

Buffered has servers in 42 countries. The Buffered software has DNS leak protection and other advanced features. It also provides close to 100% up time, along with lightning fast connection speeds. Encryption is provided with OpenVPN (our recommended VPN protocol). As such, Buffered is fully equipped to guarantee your businesses online privacy and security.

Rounding out their features, we see 24/7 customer support and a 30-day money-back guarantee. One drawback to using Buffered for business is that they don't offer any kind of volume pricing or business packages. While you can install their software on as many devices as you wish, if you plan on having more than 5 simultaneous connections active, you'll need an additional account.

    PrivateVPN Homepage
    • Helpful customer service
    • 30-day money-back guarantee
    • DNS leak protection
    • 6 simultaneous connections
    • Excellent mobile apps
    • Not much

If you're looking for an affordable VPN service that can support multiple simultaneous connections, you could do a lot worse than PrivateVPN. With an impressive six device limit on simultaneous connections, their solid service also offers impressive server coverage in over 50 countries and a super secure zero logs policy coupled with military grade encryption.

If you would like to try before you commit, PrivateVPN offers a 30-day money back guarantee. But the chances you'll want to use tis are slim, with a 98.8% uptime and customer support available around the clock, you unlikely to feel left out in the cold as a PrivateVPN customer.

    VyprVPN Homepage
    • Three-day free trial
    • Allowance of five simultaneous connections per user
    • Servers in 58 countries
    • Proprietary cloaking method
    • Automatic WiFi protection and kill switch
    • Can be slow from some locations

The VyprVPN business package has a lot of really impressive features that make this a very distinct service from the plan offered to residential customers. The company has two packages for businesses. The more expensive of the two includes a dedicated cloud server for your company.

The Business Cloud package creates a gateway to all of the other cloud-based apps and storage that your company subscribes to. This enables you to build a truly global team, spread out all over the world that can collaborate just as easily as if they were all seated in the same office building. VyprVPN has a proprietary cloaking method, which manages to get through the Great Firewall of China and evade detection and controls in other repressive countries. The app includes automatic WiFi protection and a kill switch to prevent unprotected connections.

Please Note: Each of the five VPNs on our list use different pricing structures. As such it is difficult to make a direct cost comparison. The variations on prices will depend on your own business needs.

What is a VPN for Business?

A VPN or virtual private network is a service that can provide your business online security via the use of encryption, especially when you purchase in bulk for your employees. By using a VPN, you’re also able to protect employees when they are in the office, at home, and using public WiFi during their travels. In addition, using a VPN can help with accessing websites that are blocked in some countries – like Google, Facebook and blogging/news websites.

Why do you need a business VPN?

Using a VPN for your business can benefit you in a variety of different ways. To start, VPNs can help your employees – from the ones that travel, constantly using public WiFi, to the ones that sit in the office all day working. A business VPN will encrypt your company’s data, therefore protecting it from unwanted parties. Furthermore, the use of a VPN can help employees that are traveling abroad access things that are blocked or restricted in the countries they’re visiting (or in the country that they reside if censorship is high).

    1. How these VPN can work for small business, if we setup firewall with specific IP address as whitelist, then any customer on the same box with our employees will also able to access our intranet resources! I don’t get how these public VPN can fit small business VPN requirements?

      1. Hi Kevin,

What these packages are offering is bulk multiple simultaneous connections so that companies can ensure that employees are all protected by a VPN. They are not cooperate VPN networks that allow employees to dial-in remotely in order access company intranet resources.
