How does it work?
Each of the links on our site contains a unique ID. When a user clicks on a link and decides to purchase a product or service, the provider pays us a finder’s fee.
If you purchase a VPN via our site it doesn’t cost you anything extra. In fact, it is often cheaper than purchasing directly via the provider because we are able to use our influence in the market to negotiate better deals for our readers.
How can you claim to provide unbiased reviews if you earn commission from VPN providers?
We’ve always believed that if we are honest with our readers, the money will take care of itself. All of our reviews are 100% impartial. We frequently criticize our partners and we also praise providers with whom we have no relationship.
This is best demonstrated by our BestVPN.com Awards. A number of non-partners took top prizes because we genuinely believe they offer a great product. Our Awards were based on the most in-depth audit of the industry to date and the results can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
We will only enter into a relationship with a provider if, after rigorous testing, we believe their product meets our exceptionally high standards. You can read more about our testing process here.
Why do you do this?
Almost every comparison and review site on the internet operates an affiliate model of some kind. Without these commissions, we wouldn’t be able to pay our staff or carry on doing the great work we do.
We have a team of 26 staff split between our offices in the UK and Hungary. Our team of experts have reviewed more VPNs than any other comparison site on the web. We’ve pioneered a range of industry-leading tools and we invest a lot of time and resources into fighting for internet freedom for everyone.
All of this costs money and none of it would be possible without your continued support. Thank you.
