Sunday was the second round of the presidential debates and the DNC hacks became part of the discussion. Hillary once again blamed the Russians claiming that the hacks were unprecedented. ‘And believe me, they’re not doing it to get me elected. They’re doing it to try to influence the election for Donald Trump,’ she said. Trump responded by saying that the hacker,
“Could be somebody sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds, O.K.”
As amusing as Trump’s response is, there may be some truth to what he is saying. After all, what any cyber security analyst knows is that if a system is vulnerable to penetration: Then more than one person may have been inside it.
Following the release of yet more DNC insider information last week (this time on a website called DC Leaks), the Obama administration yesterday announced that it would consider taking an ‘appropriate and proportional’ response to the Russian hacking.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest made the following comment,
‘There are a range of responses that are available to the president and he will consider a response that is proportional. It is certainly possible that the president can choose response options that we never announce.’
It is true that some cybersecurity firms have found circumstantial evidence to point the finger at Russia. What you should remember, however, is that DNC leaks have now come from three separate sources. Guccifer 2.0, Wikileaks, and DC Leaks have all now released documents.
Those emails demonstrate in-party collusion, press collusion, and Clinton Foundation involvement in helping to get Hillary Clinton elected as President. Quite the flabbergasting list.
In addition, Election Justice USA‘s report has claimed that vote counting machines may have been hacked during the primaries, to seal Clinton’s win over Bernie Sanders. All in all, quite the treasure trove of wrongdoing from the Clinton camp.
With that in mind, Clinton’s remarks that the ‘Russians’ are trying to influence the election for Trump – seems less verifiable – than the fact that a lot of behind the scenes action has been happening to affect the election in favor of Clinton.
The contents of the DC Leaks?
Six days ago – DC Leaks – the anonymous whistleblower organization styled on Wikileaks, released a bunch of emails concerning Clinton campaign insider Capricia Marshall. Along with the emails, DC Leaks described Marshall on its website,
‘She worked on the Bill Clinton presidential campaign. In 2000, as the Clinton Administration wound down, Marshall worked on Hillary Clinton’s New York Senate campaign, although in its aftermath her name figured in charges of campaign finance violations brought before the Federal Election Commission. Capricia Marshall is increasingly at Clinton’s side these days.’
The emails demonstrate a concerted effort by the Clinton Foundation to influence the presidential race. Including the use of celebrity appearances and celebrity endorsements to increase Clinton’s popularity.
One email from Craig Minassianto to Terri McCullough (via their Clinton Foundation email addresses) describes efforts to get Clinton on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. In the email, Minissianto writes,
‘The answer we actually need is will she go on Fallon as a guest to get them to do a viral video while there.’
A Viral Here, a Celebrity There
Other emails between Clinton Foundation staffers reveal that the foundation was being used as a method to showcase Clinton in the right light to become the next president. The ‘Clinton brand’, in fact, appears to be the most important part of the organization’s work in the run up to this election.
MSNBC producer Sheara Braun allegedly corresponded directly with Clinton campaign spokesperson Adrienne Elrod. Those emails were also carbon copied to the care of Marshall at the Clinton Foundation. Shockingly this all demonstrates that the Clinton Foundation was serving as a secondary body for the Clinton campaign. Helping to coordinate and schedule celebrity events to bolster the Clinton campaign.
Trump vs Clinton
In the second presidential debate on Sunday Clinton commented that,
‘It’s just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country.’
Trump replied by saying,
‘Because you’d be in jail.’
Both comments were in response to Trump’s claims that if he is elected POTUS, he will look into the email scandal himself,
‘If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your (missing email) situation, because there has never been so many lies, so much deception.’
Emails released by Julian Assange’s Wikileaks organization have also shown that some journalists have been deeply involved in aiding the Clinton campaign. John Harwood who is an anchor at CNBC praises Clinton in emails to John Podesta (Clinton’s confidant). In one email he even admits writing an article about Clinton that will be one ‘she wants’.
This ties directly to emails released earlier this year by Guccifer 2.0, which also demonstrated collusion between DNC and the media during the primaries race.
In addition to these already alarming revelations, recent leaks have shown that Clinton insiders have been trash talking Catholics. According to emails now available for public scrutiny, Jennifer Palmieri – Clinton’s campaign Director of Communications – refers to Conservative Catholic beliefs as ‘backward’.
The show goes on
What Obama’s proportional response towards Russia (the proposed bad guy in all of this) will be is anybody’s guess. What is not a surprise is that Obama is siding firmly with the Clinton version of these events.
Only recently (speaking for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation on September 17) Obama urged African-American voters to choose fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton. During that speech Obama said,
‘I will consider it a personal insult, an insult to my legacy, if this community lets down its guard and fails to activate itself in this election.’
With Trump claiming on Sunday that he will attempt to throw Clinton in prison over the emails scandal, one wonders if he has inadvertently stumbled upon the only policy that could get him elected. After all, he might be a punk, a dog, and a pig, according to Rober De Niro, but one can’t wondering just how many voters out there wouldn’t mind seeing Trump have a go at putting Clinton behind bars. The hilarity continues.
