If you are a gamer who enjoys a compelling plot and immersive gameplay, you’ve heard of the Dishonored series. The first Dishonored back in 2012 was famous for blending the perfect combination of stealth and fighting, while also allowing players to write their own storyline based on actions in the game.
Dishonored 2 looks to bring this excitement back, along with an updated graphics engine and a beautiful, open-world environment. Check out one of the amazing gameplay trailers below!
Dishonored 2 will be available on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. If you pre-order the game, you are given early access to the game on November 10th, a full day ahead of release.
There is, however, a way to play Dishonored 2 up to 20 hours earlier on release day! By using a VPN to tunnel into a country such as New Zealand or Australia, you can take advantage of time zone differences and start playing the game earlier.
For instance, if you currently live in California (PST), tunneling into a VPN server in New Zealand will allow you to play the game up to 20 hours before release!
Let’s go over how you can enjoy Dishonored 2 earlier using a VPN.
Note: Using a VPN in combination with Steam could result in your account getting banned. Try purchasing from alternative vendors or continue on Steam at your own risk!

Considerations for Playing Dishonored 2 Early
Platform Specific Instructions
Dishonored 2 will be coming out on Windows PC, Xbox One, and PS4. While the process remains largely the same for each platform, there are some minor differences between them that I have outlined below.
Let’s start off with the best platform for playing video games (no, this isn’t up for debate!), Windows PC. While I would usually recommend Steam for purchasing and playing games, your Steam account could get banned (due to Steam’s policy against VPNs). Proceed at your own risk or buy the game from another vendor if you want to play early.
Purchasing Dishonored 2 from Bethesda’s official store or a service such as Amazon, G2A, or Gamestop will all get you the same game, but you need to look around to see where you can get the best deal. Once purchased, simply follow my previous instructions on how to use a VPN to tunnel into New Zealand.
If you do everything right, you could be enjoying Dishonored 2 as early as 6 AM EST on November 10th!
Xbox One is going to be the same process as Windows PC, although you might be a bit more limited when it comes to purchasing options. When it comes to setting up a VPN on Xbox One, you have the choice of connecting to a VPN on your Xbox through your home computer, or you can also setup a VPN on your router and cover all of the devices in your household. Read more about these methods here.
One thing to keep in mind is the vastly different price depending on where you buy and where you are located. For instance, purchasing Dishonored 2 from the New Zealand Xbox store will cost you about $88 USD. I found the same game available on Amazon for $59.99.
Spend some time looking around for the cheapest purchase possible, with a VPN helping you tunnel into countries that might have better currency exchange rates.
Playstation 4 allows players to play games without any region restrictions. The only work you will need to do is make sure your router is configured correctly with your VPN. With a PS4 not being able to create a VPN connection, you will have to get the VPN set up on your home router.
You can follow the steps outlined in this ExpressVPN WRT1200AC Router Review on how to set up a VPN on your home router, or check out the VPN provider you signed up with for further instructions.
