Stream F1 Online: Viewing Options

Stream Formula 1 on TENplay and Fox Sports: Completely Free!

Those looking for a completely free way to stream Formula 1 this season are in luck, as two major Australian networks will be showing most of the action. TENplay (the online streaming arm of Network Ten) and Foxtel Play (a Fox Sports streaming service) will be showing all of the action of the 2017 Formula 1 season for free!

The one drawback here is that both of these streaming services are geo-restricted to Australia, meaning anyone outside of the country will need a VPN to bypass these restrictions. However, simply follow my instructions on how to set up a VPN and you can enjoy Formula 1 action all year long!

US Cable Subscribers: NBC Sports

Formula 1 fans in the US have the option to watch all the races on NBC Sports Live, the online streaming service of NBC Sports. With NBC owning the exclusive rights to F1 in the US, watching online with NBC Sports Live is the best way for US viewers to tune in for the races.

In order to access NBC Sports Live, you will need to log in with valid cable subscription credentials. Additionally, US cable subscribers who are currently travelling or overseas will also need a VPN to unblock the stream.

UK Cable Subscribers: Sky Sports F1

Much like NBC Sports Live in the US, UK viewers have the option of watching Formula 1 through Sky Sports Go. You will need a Sky Sports subscription, although this can be solved by purchasing a Sky Sports Pass (monthly, weekly, or even day passes are available).

Due to geo-restrictions, UK residents traveling abroad will need a VPN to unblock the Sky Sports Go stream.

Streaming Formula 1 on Kodi Devices

With Kodi devices skyrocketing in popularity, I should also mention the ability to stream Formula 1 races for free using Kodi. Kodi is open source media software which, when combined with third-party add-ons, allows you to stream TV shows, sports events, and movies for free!

The one big drawback with Kodi is the highly dubious legality of some of these streams. With recent crackdowns on Kodi users in the UK and US, using a VPN to protect yourself when streaming F1 on Kodi is highly recommended!

Best VPN for Formula 1: Considerations

Adios Bernie!

One of the biggest headlines for this upcoming F1 season is the end of Bernie Ecclestone’s 40-year reign as the head of Formula 1. Former 21st Century Fox executive Chase Carey assumes the role of CEO and Chairman of Formula One, and has already promised widespread changes to the sport.

Some of the changes being discussed include the potential for more races, further digital innovation through virtual reality and social media, and much more. Regardless of how this season plays out, there definitely seem to be some changes coming with the sport. Stay tuned!
